The second way is when the starter doesn’t turn at all.

SOURCE: Battery dead on 2010 Volkswagen tiguan. keyless. The end of the door handle (the part that doesn't move when you open the door) is actually a plastic cap under which hides the real keyhole. There is even a key-sized hole at the bottom of it which you can feel with your finger. Just pry it off and you're good to go. Posted on Dec 12, 2009

The 2008 Volkswagen Tiguan car makes a clicking noise but won’t start: If you turn the key to the “Start” position, but the engine won’t crank; all you hear is a single click or repeated clicking coming from the engine compartment. Very often this could be caused by a low battery or poor connection between the battery and starter.

Jan 16, 2015 . After four visits to two different VW shops, a solution was found for my '09 Tiguan that failed to start as mentioned previously. Turns out that the ground screw for the fuel pump was loose. This explains why the vehicle would start sometimes (when there was a connection, and fuel was sent by the pump) and wouldn't start on other occassions (when a connection was not being made).

The "reading lights" in the ceiling of the back seat of my VW Tiguan won't go off, unless I lock the doors. When I click the button by the lights, they won't turn off. I'm afraid if I don't lock the car (like I ordinarily would if it was in the garage)m the battery will die. I have checked, and even when the car is turned off for, say :30 or more, the lights stay on.

It's exactly the opposite and it's the combination that we didn't try. All the buttons have to be pushed IN to turn them Off. So, the REAR and the two reading lights all pushed IN turns them Off. Thanks!!! 164 people found this helpful.
