SOURCE: Battery dead on 2010 Volkswagen tiguan. keyless. The end of the door handle (the part that doesn't move when you open the door) is actually a plastic cap under which hides the real keyhole. There is even a key-sized hole at the bottom of it which you can feel with your finger. Just pry it off and you're good to go. Posted on Dec 12, 2009

The first and most common is when it won’t turn over. This just means that the engine doesn’t move when you turn the key. The second way that your Tiguan won’t start is when the engine turns when you engage the starter, but it won’t fire and run on its own.

If the battery is completely dead, jump starting might help. If the key won’t turn in the ignition, it could be for a couple of reasons: Often this happens when the steering is locked by the ignition lock with the front wheels turned aside or when one of the front wheels is pushed against something.
This just means that the engine doesn’t move when you turn the key. The second way that your Tiguan won’t start is when the engine turns when you engage the starter, but it won’t fire and run on its own. To do this, turn on the battery in your Volkswagen and see if the immobilizer warning light is flashing on your dash, most likely in your speedometer. It should look like an outline of a car with a key inside it. If it’s flashing, it means the immobilizer’s disconnected from the system.
I changed my VW Golf 2016 battery yesterday. While changing to new one, the old is battery is fully disconnect. After changing to new one, It still won't start, and display some error message (tyre pressure flat, and some others) What the mechanics did was to off the car, and get into the the car with they key.
After changing or disconnecting the battery Basically, you need to reboot the computer on my Jetta TDI 2006. Turn the key on, but don’t start it. If you have to jump it, leave the jump in place to run the computer Leave it with key on, but not started for about 15 minutes.
