Aug 09, 2012 . 1. Behind passenger dash on sedan, above gas pedal in coupe. You do not need to mess with the factory amp for a sub install so it doesn't matter where it is anyways. 2. The stock deck and stock amp wouldn't be powering your sub, so you don't need to worry about this either.

If you have some experience with that swap, feel free to share your wisdom in the comments section below. The non-nav receiver, however, is a reasonably simple thing to remove and replace.

My personal experience and suggestion would be to just add a real sub to a premium HU as the first step (i.e. a 10" sealed or larger, or an 8" ported or larger). The main thing the OEM speakers are missing is the "bottom-end", but once that's added, it should be a significant improvement.

Its a 2017 Honda Civic lx-p coupe. From what I can tell it has the basic 4 speaker system with non touch screen lcd display. I'm looking into replacing the head unit and the company asked if the car has a factory amp. I did some research but I can't seem to find the answers. Anyone know where the amp would be located if I had one?

Feb 27, 2015 . This article applies to the Honda Civic/Del Sol (1992-2000) and Accord (1990-2000). If you want more sound from your Honda's stock audio system, then an aftermarket amplifier is a welcoming upgrade. Even if you upgrade your audio system with better speakers or head units—without adding an amplifier—the sound quality won't improve.

The location of this amplifier depends on which type of car you have. In sedans, it’s located under the driver’s seat. Just run the harness’ wires to the amp. In coupes, you’ll find the amp beneath the center console, in front of the gear shifter.
The Civic was available with the expected array of early 21 st -century factory audio gear. The standard AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA stereo could be had with four or seven speakers, and a factory navigation system was also an option. They're not hard to deal with, but there are some differences in how you approach the 2012 and 2013-15 receivers.
Those people bought a lot of 2012 Civics, but Honda being Honda, ordered a serious revamp for 2013. The result was a Civic that was fundamentally the same, but different in a few areas that automotive journalists worry about more than normal people do. Either way, it was an impressive effort by a proud company.
Removing the factory stereo is a little bit involved, but our Crutchfield MasterSheet will walk you through it, step by step. To remove the factory stereo, the first thing you’ll need to do is use a panel tool to pry away the knee panel located just under the steering column.
The audio system also has a volume knob, which instantly makes it more user-friendly. The 2020 Honda Civic Si earned a five-star crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but it wasn't named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
For 2020, the Civic Si gets updated with exterior and interior changes, revised transmission gearing, and a bunch of standard driver assists. The redesign includes subtle tweaks to the front and rear bumpers, standard LED headlights, and new matte-black 18-inch wheels.
There are four trim levels of the Honda Civic for 2022. The Civic LX and Civic Sport are powered by a familiar 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque; the Honda Civic EX and Touring models get the new turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder, which produces 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque.
Once you've found the torque, zipping around in the Si is a gas. The car is light enough that you'll rarely want more power—the coupe version we tested sprinted to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds —even though some of its competitors offer significantly more horsepower.
