How many seats does the Volkswagen Tiguan have? The base 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan, the FWD model, seats seven in three rows of seats.
Volkswagen Tiguan models. The 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan is a two- or three-row SUV that comes in six trim levels: S, SE, SEL, SEL R-Line, SEL Premium and SEL Premium R-Line.
All R-Lines are identified by a rear sport valance, specific front bumper with a wide lower opening, R-Line badging, 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels (with a two-tone machined appearance on the Premium), leather-wrapped steering wheel with R-Line badge, and stainless-steel pedal surfaces. The Premium also boasts leather seats.
NOTE: This video is about the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan, but since the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan is part of the same generation, our earlier analysis still applies. The all-new 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan is 10.7 inches longer than the 2017 model and now offers an optional third row.
2021 Volkswagen Tiguan SE Specs The base Tiguan offers some real value, and despite its lame turbocharged four-pot engine and drowsy handling dynamics, it puts up a decent fight in a very competitive part of the SUV market.
What this means is that the Tiguan gets some street cred with the addition of 20-inch alloy wheels and an R-Line body kit that includes a meaner grille, unique badging, darkened intakes, side sills, bumpers, and body-color lower cladding.
In advance of a more thorough update for the 2022 model year, VW makes a few changes to the Tiguan for 2021. The base S and mid-range SE models receive new 17-inch wheel designs and the latter of the two receives standard adaptive cruise control.
The Tiguan's ride is comfortable and compliant, which should please most drivers, but the tradeoff is less precision during brisk driving. A front-wheel-drive Tiguan we drove was easily unsettled by bumps in the road, but all-wheel-drive models were noticeably better at managing Michigan's cratered highways and byways.
