Catalog HY10-1630/US Piston Accumulators. Series 3000. Piston Accumulators provide a means of regulating the performance of a hydraulic system. They are suitable for storing energy under pressure, absorbing hydraulic shocks, and dampening pump pulsation and flow fluctuations.
ASME Certification requires third party surveillance of an approved quality system and requires witness by a third party of all hydrostatic testing. And at present, unlike many other standards around the world, there is no ASME national requirement for periodic inspection of Accumulators after installation.
At shut- down, the accumulator is the coldest component in the system. This results in migration of liquid refrigerant to the device. This type of system needs to return the refrigerant to circulation more quickly than the fixed orifice system.
