However, in an Acmi formula the lessor needs to ensure everything that is required for the aircraft to be airworthy and fit for the operations it is going to perform. In particular, the aircraft needs to have a current C of A and ARC and all maintenance performed to the current requirements.
Acmi is a wet lease option which, in my opinion, is rather a purchase of a service than an actual lease. The lessee signs an Acmi lease contract for an aircraft or a fleet of aircraft, which are being operated by their current operator, albeit under the lessees AOC.

About Acmi. The Acmi product certification program includes an ongoing review of the latest scientific and regulatory information available to keep the program current. The program also includes a five-year review of product formulations to meet the requirements of the Labeling of Hazardous Art Materials Act.
We are very proud of the fact that nearly a quarter of these companies are long-standing members (30+ years) of Acmi. For over 80 years, the Acmi program for children’s art materials has certified that these products are non-toxic using the AP Seal.
If a product contains potentially harmful ingredients, Acmi will mandate a CL label (caution label). No material with these labels is appropriate for children. Fanning says that Acmi’s evaluations prohibit AP-labeled products from containing chemicals at or above California’s Proposition 65 level.
