The director of Kern County Department of Planning & Community Development may require aboveground cabinets or facilities to be screened in an approved manner. Any aboveground cabinets or facilities located within the road right-of-way shall be permitted only upon approval by the Director.
The Policy/Procedures Manual contains official policies and procedures adopted by the Kern County Board of Supervisors for the conduct of County operations and personnel.
County employment is governed by the Civil Service Commission, which is a nonpartisan public commission providing policy direction and oversight of the system of selecting and promoting civil service employees. The commission carries out its powers and duties within the guidelines of adopted rules.
Title 3 contains laws governing the hiring, promotion, discipline, and termination of County employees as well as County employee compensation.
Your department heads are determining which of their staff need to remain at their location providing services and which employees will be asked to be on call or work remotely. All Kern County employees are designated disaster service workers and will be expected to report in if called.
