Acura RDX owners report the infotainment system frequently freezing or crashing. When the system malfunctions, unexpected audio or video errors can cause the driver to become distracted.
Finally, Android Auto is here. The third-generation Acura RDX didn't play nice with smartphones running Android, but that changes as of this week. The Japanese luxury brand said on Monday that Android Auto is now rolling out to all 2019 and 2020 RDX vehicles via an over-the-air software update.
Lots of things to appreciate in the RDX, but there’s a major irritant we must put up with. The Acura RDX has been on the market since 2006 as a 2007 model, and the current, third-generation model was introduced for the 2019 model year. It’s one of two SUVs in Acura’s North American lineup, alongside the midsize, three-row MDX.
At least the voice control system works reasonably well, and the system includes both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Pop open the RDX’s rear liftgate and you’ll find 29.5 cu.-ft. of cargo space behind the rear seats. Folding the rear seats will give you a maximum of 58.9 cu.-ft.
Because the RDX is a compact vehicle, a third passenger would make things tight, but there’s a good amount of legroom for those long of limb. Rear vents are always appreciated, and the RDX includes two rear USB charging ports.
