Alienware is an American computer hardware subsidiary of Dell. Their products are designed for gaming and can be identified by their alien-themed designs. Alienware was founded in 1996 by Nelson Gonzalez and Alex Aguila. The company's corporate headquarters is located in The Hammocks, in Miami, Florida.
The Graphics Amplifier works with the laptop, and when connected to the system, registers as the laptop's primary graphics card, bypassing the onboard GPU and offering desktop-class performance for higher frame rates and the option to run one or more external monitors.
The Alienware Graphics Amplifier is a box which can house a desktop-class graphics card, which you can then hook up to a supporting Alienware laptop. This will allow you to connect external displays to the installed GPU, which are then powered by the desktop-class graphics card, or you can use the GPU to power your built-in display.
The Graphics Amplifier is a desktop enclosure that offers a PCI Express connection to a desktop-class GPU and power supply, along with a four-port USB 3.0 hub, all connected to the laptop through a proprietary port.
Full Force:The graphics amplifier includes a 460 Watts internal power supply so you can run advanced graphics cards confidently. It is designed with a single cord that connects exclusively to the Alienware 13, 15 and 17 R2
Simply plug in and enjoy a full desktop experience – immersive graphics and big performance. Alienware 13, 15 and 17 R2 can power up to three displays, including its own LCD – connect it to the graphics amplifier and you can power as many additional screens as the graphics card within the graphics amplifier can support.
The new Alienware Graphics Amplifier allows you to enhance your Alienware 13, 15 and 17 R2 notebooks at home, transforming it into an upgradable, desktop-class gaming station. Gamers have never had this degree of flexibility and power. Now the choice is yours. Let true power transform you.
