Arlo Pro 3 I have quite a bit of experience with the Arlo line as I have been using an Arlo base station along with 2 of the Pro 2’s and 2 Pro’s for the past few years. I love these, they have been reliable, secure, and can take a beating in the elements. I have no doubt the Arlo Pro 3 will prove be even better!

Yes . the PRO can run from the adapter and cable WITH or WITHOUT the battery installed. It will not hurt the battery to be left in all the time with the AC adapter
The base station (for Arlo and Arlo PRO) is used to communicate with the Arlo cameras on a special secured wireless network. It is low power and designed just for the Arlo devices. You can only connect the base to the cameras and the base is required. You can not connect Arlo cameras directly to your existing wireless network.
If your camera is farther away from the base station, it might be connecting and disconnecting because it's too far away from the base station. Make sure the area is covered by Wi-Fi and you indeed have a stable internet. Your Arlo camera might be experiencing WiFi congestion and goes offline. Ensure your Arlo base station is online.
No matter what you think, activity zones for the Arlo Pro are (and always were) processed in the cloud - the camera has no hardware support for them. Whenever motion is detected by your cameras, the video is streamed to the Arlo Cloud. If activity zones are enabled, it then checks to see if the video includes motion inside the zone.
