This also resets my preferences for Bamboo Dock (do not open on startup!!) so I have to deal with closing that constantly. I find the dock entirely useless, so maybe a pure driver would be better. Of course the issue is one I can probably solve more permanently if I just sit down and mess with it, but that shouldn't be necessary.

Bamboo Dock is discontinued and was taken offline since April 2016. Re: Wacom CTH-470 issues, help? I bought a CTH670 only a couple of years ago and I am disgusted that although Windows has gone through multiple revision the Driver we have is still nearly as old as me, slight exaggeration as I think it was for early Win8.
If the directory you specify doesn't exist, Bamboo will create the directory when it launches. The default is: Ensure that the Bamboo home directory is not located inside the <Bamboo installation directory> . Extract the files from the zip Archive to a <Bamboo installation directory> of your choice.
Open the settings menu inside the app. Enable stylus support by selecting Bamboo Sketch, Bamboo Stylus or Wacom Stylus. You may need to open a new note or notebook to pair your stylus. Pairing and the name of the stylus may vary by app.
Download Bamboo Download Bamboo from the Atlassian download site. You can choose either the Windows Installer versions ( .exe) or the ZIP Archive ( .zip ). It is highly recommended to avoid placing the Bamboo home directory in any Windows security controlled directory, for example, C:\Program Files.
