This is a linear amplifier made by BARKER & WILLIAMSON around the late 1950's. It's a two chassis set up housed in a case that is a so called, table unit. It does weigh around a hunderd pounds! I acquired one about a year ago, and just had the power supply completly rebuilt. (Not by me, but someone who knows these things inside and out!).

The B&W 5100B Amateur Radio Transmitter was produced between 1955 and 1961 by the BARKER & WILLIAMSON Company of Bristol PA (near Philadelphia). This transmitter offered both AM radiotelephony and CW radiotelegraphy on the 80, 40, 20, 15, 11, and 10 Meter Amateur Bands. The unit had a self contained power supply, and tipped the scales at 85 pounds.

Oct 01, 2007 . The Barker and Williamson 5100 is a CW and AM transmitter produced between 1954 and 1956. One could purchase the separate 51SB SSB generator if desired. The 51SB required the 5100 to be modified accordingly, and B&W provided a kit for this purpose. Factory wired 5100 transmitters were designated "5100S".
