BASAGLAR is indicated in the treatment of patients over 17years of age with type1 or type2 diabetes mellitus who require basal (long-acting) insulin for the control of hyperglycemia(high blood sugar).
Initiation of BASAGLAR Therapy. The recommended starting dose of BASAGLAR in patients with type 1 diabetes should be approximately one-third of the total daily insulin requirements. Short- or rapid-acting, pre-meal insulin should be used to satisfy the remainder of the daily insulin requirements.
