Please note, if the pin is older than 60 days, you will be alerted to update the pin for security purposes. Disable and re-enable the Blink SmartHome skill to create an updated pin. The Blink SmartHome skill is automatically disabled after three incorrect attempts to enter the pin. Disable and re-enable the skill to create a new pin.
You are required to enter a 4 digit pin. This pin will be used if you disarm your Blink system using Alexa. Enter your desired pin, and tap Grant Access. Once you've tapped Grant Access, you'll receive a message saying "Your Blink for Home Skill was successfully linked.".
The keypad will Blink for 15 seconds, during that time the ENTER button can be used to stop, start or reverse the door. If the wrong number is accidentally pressed, press the correct PIN then the ENTER button. The Keyless Entry will transmit only the last four digits that were pressed before the ENTER button.
To enable Alexa, start by opening the Alexa app on your phone. Tap the curtain menu in the upper lefthand corner of the app and select "Skills" Tap the button that says "Enable Skill". This will bring up a new window that will ask you to sign in with your Blink username and password.
Please note that the Blink SmartHome Alexa Skill is currently only available in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. Alexa Routines and Motion Announcements (click to learn more) are supported only in the US and Canada at this time.
Tap “Cameras” and select each one of Blink cameras listed, then delete each by tapping on the “Trash” icon. After the Blink SmartHome skill is disabled all Blink devices are removed, follow the Enabling Blink SmartHome skill steps to relink the skill.
You will need your Blink login information (username, which is usually your email address, and password) to use this module. The preferred method for setting this up is by using the configuration flow. Go to the integrations page in your configuration and click on new integration -> Blink.
