You can use either of these to plug the PI7's case into a computer or analogue audio source, effectively as a wireless adapter. The case will then send sound to the headphones over aptX LL (so: CD-quality audio). This is a great feature not just for convenience (use them with your Nintendo Switch!
Better late and done properly was what I thought when B&W announced the first True Wireless in-ears in their range with the PI5 and PI7.
The PI7 are debuting alongside the cheaper (and less well-specified) PI5 as Bowers & Wilkins' first sets of true wireless headphones, and the company has gone in hard when it comes to features for its most premium model.
The Bowers & Wilkins Headphones app for Android and iOS is a one-size-fits-all app for the company’s various headphone and in-ear offerings. For the PI7, the app allows for control of the ANC (you can turn it on or off, and enable/disable Auto mode) and Ambient mode (you can turn it on or off and adjust the volume level of the mics).
The B&W PI7’s musical presentation for a pair of true wireless headphones is nothing short of fabulous. Music is rich, lush, dynamic, detailed, and engaging. B&W’s PI7 headphones create a defined, layered soundstage with instruments and vocals placed firmly in space and time.

If you listen to a non-lossless streaming service, the B&W PI7 will still sound great, but they won't sound their exceptional best. And secondly, you need be streaming from a device that supports Qualcomm's aptX Adaptive audio technology, a codec that lets you stream high bitrate and low latency audio files over Bluetooth.
