For a mouth burn from hot food or drink, put a piece of ice in the mouth for a few minutes. Remove rings or other tight items from the burned area.

To treat first degree burns soak the burn wound in cold water for five minutes. You can take a pain reliever in case you experience pain. Do not use ice on the burn wound as it can make them worse.
