It provides the basic standards for the safe movement of traffic upon highways or streets in accordance with Section 21400 of the California Vehicle Code and the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices 2014 Edition, Rev 3. Traffic control includes safe protection for the public, motorists, bicyclists, pedestrians and workers.
Notify the Department of the California Highway Patrol or the police department of the city in which the collision occurred. Exchange driver license, vehicle registration, and insurance information with the other driver or drivers. Do not accept or place any blame.
All temporary traffic control signs shall be sized to be in accordance with CA MUTCD Table 6F-1 and 6F-1 (CA), Sizes of Temporary Control Signs. TTC sign placement shall be per Section 6F.03 of the CA MUTCD.

As of November 7, 2014 California Department of Transportation has adopted the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (California MUTCD) 2014 edition to provide for uniform standards and specifications for all official traffic control devices in California.
The Traffic Manual is a guide for department personnel in traffic operations and design. It does not establish absolute standards but establishes uniform guidelines and procedures for the use of traffic control devices.
