If the TV5 looks no-nonsense and ready for business, the same can be said of its audio performance. It delivers a happily high-power, dynamic and weighty sound that is easily commensurate with the £300 asking price.
The TV2 is CAMBRIDGE Audio’s latest soundbase and the successor to the impressive Minx TV. It’s one of two new soundbases in the company’s range – the other is the larger TV5 with an extra subwoofer, which costs around £80 more and caters for larger TVs.
Using twin BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) drive units, the CAMBRIDGE TV2 V2 gives pinpoint accuracy and is bursting with detail, even at high volumes. BMR technology combines the advantages of both flat panel and conventional speakers, meaning that the TV2 V2 is truly dynamic and won't turn harsh when the action gets intense.
The sensor in the TV5 V2 is designed to accept signals and learn volume commands from most TV or SKY remotes and also commands quick pairing with your Bluetooth device, eight of which can be matched to the sound base. Getting a big TV is only half the picture. Complete the home cinema experience with the powerful-sounding CAMBRIDGE Audio TV5 V2.

CAMBRIDGE Audio expanded its prolific catalogue of hi-fi and home cinema products with the brilliant Minx TV last year, and its successor is further proof that the company knows what it’s doing in the burgeoning, budget soundbase market.
The TV5 v2 has a 3.5mm input jack, an RCA connection, an optical input, and aptX Bluetooth connectivity, plus an HDMI cable for 24-bit/192Khz hi-res audio. Sonically, the TV5 v2 is a great soundbase. The bass is tight, the midrange is full and it provides a good dynamic injection across any input.
