Candi module is fully compatible with current and past Tech 2 software. The module powers up in a way that makes it transparent to the user. This allows the existing Tech 2 software to be used with no changes when the Candi module is installed.
Once the Candi module is connected, it can be used on all GM vehicle applications, even those vehicles using other platforms such as OBD I and OBD II. The Candi (Controller Area Network Diagnostic Interface) is an in-line cable module that works with existing Tech 2 components including the VCI, cables and adapters.
Application flexibility is assured by the universal analog inputs, universal AC power supply, two digital inputs, a maximum of two analog inputs and four digital outputs, RS485 Modbus RTU or Ethernet 10/100M Base-T TCP/IP communication protocols, simple configuration plus total field upgrade capability for any optional feature.
All the other inputs are ordinary buttons. If you are not using analog controls, but using a regular micro-switch joystick, simply connect the 4 joystick switches to UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT in the same way as the I-PAC boards.

The analog-to-digital channels provide 24-bit analog-to-digital conversion of up to two independent analog signals. The analog inputs can either be totally asynchronous (have no relationship at all to each other) or synchronous (separate signals, but logically related to the same START reference).
