May 06, 2018 . For barring the engine i have a Cummins barring tool, flat stock with 2 knobs that hooks the pulley so you can spin it. Its an otc 7161, could easily be made of needed. I have always ran a quart of atf in the fuel before adjustment. It burns the carbon which can cause an injector to stick after adjustment.

On the Celect,you adjust valves & inj on same cyl.The mark A is now 1-6,B is 2-5, & C is 3-4.Valves are Int 0.014 & Exhaust is 0.027.The injector you hand tighten screw until injector plunger bottoms out.Back screw out 2 flats,ie turn corner of lock nut to align with the rivet in the rocker lever(pushtube side),then back out screw two "corners" then tighten the jam nut down.Adjust the Injector first,then the valves.

This dowel pin, used only on N14 cylinder blocks, prevents the installation of earlier model water pumps which do not incorporate an internal oil cooler coolant return passage.

The Cummins N14 is a popular diesel engine prevalently installed in commercial trucks, RVs and agricultural and construction equipment. Built on a basic 855 cubic inch Cummins engine, the N14 was produced from the late 1980s until 2000, when it was discontinued and replaced with the ISX line of engines. The N14 received some slight updates throughout its production years, but remained the same at its core.
The N14 Celect was the first Cummins engine to feature an electronic injection system. The Celect fuel system produces systematic pressure throughout each injection cycle unlike the common rail fuel system of the 855, or older M11 or L10 models. Albeit the injectors are still cam actuated the ECM controls the metered flow of fuel to the injectors.
Cummins N14 Series. The N14 is a 4-stroke, 6-cylinder inline engine based on a basic Cummins 855 in3 engine. While in production, the N14 went through modifications to meet the strict Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations, including the CELECT and CELECT Plus fuel systems to monitor the fuel delivered to the electronic injectors.
A diesel fuel injector is a very important component of the diesel car's engine. The diesel engine, unlike the gasoline engine, injects fuel directly into the cylinder. This exposes it to heat and pressure, which might, overtime, damage the fuel injector or decrease its productivity.
