The D.W. Fearn PDB Passive Direct Box has a very impressive sound quality overall. I've really only used the PDB one time for getting a direct signal from a Wurlitzer electric piano. We also had the Wurli going to a speaker cabinet, so the PDB wasn't the only thing that I was using to record the source.

SOUND QUALITY. On Fearn's website you can find plenty of user reviews (considering that the VT-2 has only been sold 400 times until now) that emphasize two main advantages of the product: it has a lush and clear sound (as contradictory as that may seem, the VT-2 seems to achieve it).
