Jan 07, 2019 . 08-12-2018 2:18pm Old post but FWIW the focus xd 20 and xd 200 are identical in terms of electronics, drivers and sonics when the 200 has the latest firmware installed. When the xd 200 has the most recent firmware, even the Dynaudio app recognizes them as xd 20s.

When you know your speakers will keep improving over time, rather than become outdated, it tends to make the decision to purchase a product of this calibre a lot easier. The Focus XD range comprises of three different speakers; the 20 XD, 30 XD, and 60 XD. I opted to go with base model of 20 XD.
The Focus 20 XDs can be controlled using either a hardware remote or an iOS/Android app. Dynaudio’s handset is compact, with a metal casing and a clearly labeled keypad. It can be used to switch inputs directly on the speaker or the Connect, as well as additional Dynaudio Connects and Hubs in other rooms.

Dynaudio’s Focus 20 XD active speakers streamline the hi-fi listening experience, and do so without imposing limits on sound quality. I was struck by their smooth, refined sound, and their ability to reproduce all manner of music, from raucous rock to delicate impressionist nocturnes, with the same levels of detail and dynamic ease.
The Speaker Position EQ control of the Dynaudio Focus XD models allows their bass performance to be optimized relative to their placement, be it positioned near a wall boundary, in a corner, or free-standing, allowing the speakers to be perfectly integrated into any room.
The Focus 200 XD, the smallest model in the XD range, is the new reference for the next generation of high-end compact loudspeakers. Designed to modest dimensions, everything is compact except for their sound.
