I cannot connect to my Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) DB instance. How can I troubleshoot connectivity issues in a public or private subnet of an Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC)? Amazon RDS databases can be launched in the public or private subnet of a VPC.
Instead of updating all of your code with the domain name of a new DB instance, you can just change the domain name of the DB instance in the CNAME record. You must use a CNAME record to associate a domain name with an Amazon RDS DB instance. Route53 doesn't support using other types of records for this purpose.
The name of the Route53 CNAME record and the attributes in the certificate don't match, which can cause host name identity verification to fail because Amazon RDS doesn't include the names of CNAME records in the SSL certificate. A registered domain name. (You don't need to use Route53 as the domain registrar.)
