Maximising your distance and accuracy on long shots from the FAirway is accomplished by matching the correct shaft flex for your swing. The goal is to achieve the correct trajectory with the FAirway wood, which maximises distance with the longer woods and minimises roll with the shorter woods.
Generally, the same shaft type and flex as your driver will produce the optimal trajectory in FAirway woods, but it is not uncommon for players to have a different shaft brand, type and/or flex in their FAirway woods since they are ground-impact clubs and may perform differently for some players.
Powered by a forged, maraging steel face, the G410 FAirway woods are engineered to launch the ball easily and deliver faster ball speeds on a penetrating trajectory that maximizes distance. A shallower face and efficient CG placement elevate MOI for tighter dispersion.
Here are a few tips to help you hit FAirway woods (better): With a FAirway wood, the golf ball should be hit on a downward blow (more like and iron or hybrid as compared to your driver which is hit on an upward direction). 3. You should make a small divot or at least “bruise the grass” when hitting FAirway woods.
1 Address the ball with the feet shoulder width apart and the ball positioned a few inches inside the left heel to help the FAirway wood bottom out correctly. 2 Keep balanced whilst swinging the club back. ... 3 A smooth rhythm is essential for a successful shot. ... 4 The ball needs to be struck at the bottom of the club's arc. ... If you struggle to make a FAirway wood shot, you're not alone. Many golfers have this issue. However, don't worry! You'll find that a few key tricks will help you develop this swing into one you can be proud of. Work on your stance and your swing, and then get ready to connect with the ball. Put the ball slightly to the left of center.
A good lie goes a long way to hitting solid FAirway wood shots. The lack of loft on the clubhead means the ball needs to be sitting well to ensure you have every chance of producing a solid strike. I often watch golfers attempt ‘miracle’ shots out of poor lies in an effort to reach the green.
