I called Feit Customer Service, and informed them about this situation. The person was very pleasant to deal with, apologized for the inconvenience and said they would contact their engineering department. So far, I think this is a good product, but the design needs some tweaking to facilitate a more sensible and simple installation.

Most complaints are based on the app (I.E. slow response time, frozen screen and crashes, etc) but also had issues with Feit’s less than detailed manuals as well as with the doorbell video model had some hardwire issues that I did not encounter with my ring model.
