Selecting Presets The most powerful feature of your Mustang amplifier is its ability to store every amplifier setting and effect selection as a preset that you can instantly recall using the PRESET knob, or remotely from your computer or footswitch. Use the PRESET knob to select one of 24 presets.
Your Mustang™ amplifier has a built-in Tuner mode that turns the control panel LEDs into a chromatic guitar tuner. To use the tuner: 1. Press and hold the TAP button for 2 seconds. The TAP and EXIT buttons will illuminate.
The Fender Mustang I v.2 is oriented towards the beginner player looking for a quality 20 watt practice amp. Loaded with 24 factory presets including a wide array of amps and effects, a beginner can easily find a sound to base their personal tone on.
This included the takedown of thousands of Fender Fuse Mustang V2 patches as well as their Fender Fuse software. The reason for the takedown is that Fender is pushing their Mustang GT and Mustang GTX series of amplifiers and are in a way forcing people to buy something new.
The Fender Mustang is easy to work with, and with a wide array of amps and effects, easy to get a tone you like. None of this matters if it doesn’t sound great, and unfortunately… that’s where the Fender Mustang’s biggest gripe is. The tiny 17 lbs plywood body houses an 8″ ‘Special Design’ Fender speaker.
The amp also comes with a built-in tuner, which is accessed by holding down on the ‘tap’ button. There’s an input for a single-switch footswitch, which Fender also makes. Also pretty essential with these sorts of practice amps: a headphone jack.
