FrSky knows many things can affect the connection between Transmitter and receiver so RSSI (receiver signal strength indication) is incorporated into all telemetry receivers. The Taranis transmitter is continually monitoring the reception quality at the aircraft. Taranis will alert the pilot before signal quality becomes critical.

You can download it free from http://www.open-tx.org/downloads.html and use it to try out setting up systems. The Taranis Tx screens and words are becoming increasingly different from those on Companion so I think it is best to do all experimenting on the Tx, ideally using a test bed as described later.
Note: FrSky maintains necessary technical support for both firmware and hardware of discontinued products. Although these products will no longer be produced, they will always be replaced by a better version .
