When reviewing footage on your computer, you’ll have a record of latitude, longitude, date, time, speed and direction of travel. Dash Cam 45 features automatic incident detection (G-sensor) so when an incident is detected, your camera knows to save the current, last and next recordings, thereby preserving a complete record of the event.
Connect the ACC wire to a switched power source. Connect the GND wire to the bare metal of the vehicle's chassis using an existing bolt or screw. Plug the parking mode cable accessory into the USB port on the camera.

Plug the other end of the vehicle power cable into a power outlet in your vehicle. If necessary, turn on the vehicle ignition switch to provide power to the power outlet in your vehicle. The device turns on. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial device setup. The camera view appears.
The following devices come pre-loaded with a trial of the camera service covering its home region, e.g. North American versions of the Garmin Dash Cam 35 will come with a trial of the US & Canada service. The following devices come pre-loaded with subscription-free updates via Garmin Express.

Only the Garmin Dash Cam 45, Garmin Dash Cam 54, Garmin Dash Cam 55, and Garmin Dash Cam 65W are compatible with the VIRB Mobile App.
