When wired up as an entrapment device interrupting the beam will stop the gate in its path and reverse the gate 1' towards the closed position. Use the 1/4” x 2 1/2” or 3 1/4” tap bolts depending on gate thickness, four 1/4” flat washers and two 1/4” nylon lock nuts. Tighten securely. Attach actuator to the now secured gate bracket using manual release pin and clip. The gate should now be fully opened with the actuator attached.

Normally a setting of 5 will operate most gates; if your gate requires a setting above 8 there is a good chance that your gate has a problem, which needs to be corrected. Possible causes are incorrect hinges, gate touching the ground; gate not level or the actuator arm connected to the gate is bent.
