Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does a photo eyes gate system work?

Photo Eyes Photocells utilize light and infrared beams to signal the gate to open or close. They offer a system for operation as well as a safety protocol to ensure vehicles or people are never struck by the gate. The sensors and reflectors create a simple, reliable system for maintaining gate safety.

  • What are the photo eyes on elite gates?

Elite Gates carries photo eyes for electric gates with a variety of sensitivities and distances. Gate safety photo eyes are not affected by inclement weather and can signal even at distances of up to 50 feet away.

  • What kind of manual do you need for gate openers?

Refer to appropriate manual for actuator installation. The CBOX1050 is used in the following Nice gate operator systems with associated gate actuators: • 1551 System with 816 LA actuator • Titan12L1 LA System with 912L actuator • 3501 System with articulating arm chassis

  • What should the setting be on a solar gate opener?

Normally a setting of 5 will operate most gates; if your gate requires a setting above 8 there is a good chance that your gate has a problem, which needs to be corrected. Possible causes are incorrect hinges, gate touching the ground; gate not level or the actuator arm connected to the gate is bent.
