If this page is still standing, the bug is still very much alive. The Solution – You can port it to a wireless carrier yourself.
It needs to be active for the transfer to go through. Once you get your Project Fi phone and the transfer is finished, then you’ll also want to make sure your plan with your previous carrier is canceled. Many carriers will cancel it automatically after you transfer out your number, but you should check with the carrier.
