• What do you need to know about Haigh screeners?

  Grit removal systems, traps, manual and automated. Fine particle maceration with integrated pumping as required. The 3rd Generation Haigh’s range of ACE Screeners® cover inlet flows from 0-100l/s and are designed specifically for use in waste water and sewage treatment works.

• Why does Haigh have a bedpan machine?

  Haigh's cutting technology means that only small particles can enter the drainage system, eliminating the possibility of unwanted items such as gloves accidentally causing blockages in the pipework.

• How many items can a Haigh classic + process?

  Designed to process up to four pulp products simultaneously in less than 2 minutes and utilizing only 1.5 gallons (6 litres) of cold water per item, the Haigh Classic+ and Panaway are efficient, economic, and an environmentally sustainable option to other methods.

• How is the solenoid valve on a Haigh med machine operated?

  The solenoid valve is operated by the machine’s printed circuit board (P.C.B.) which receives a signal from a level switch mounted in the cistern. The water is drawn from the cistern by a separate pump and is discharged via the plumbing system into the machine. A measured quantity of deodoriser is fed into the plumbing towards the end of the cycle.

• How often does a Haigh bedpan disposal machine work?

  We understand that your bedpan machine must work without fail tens, if not hundreds of times per day in a busy sluice-room. All Haigh bedpan disposal machines are tested on pulp disposable items from all of the many manufacturers and types of product, from urine bottles to large wash-bowls and sample pots.

• How is the lid on a Haigh med machine washed?

  The internal surfaces of the lid and hopper are automatically washed down by the spray from a vent centrally mounted on the underside of the lid. Switching on the wall isolator actuates the microprocessor which performs a safety monitoring assessment of the condition of the machine before the green ready to run light illuminates.

• What causes a Haigh med machine to stop?

  • This machine is designed to operate on a fully automatic cycle. During this cycle it will only stop if a fault occurs or if it is overloaded. • If the hopper is overloaded beyond the recommended capacity the internal trip can cause the machine to stop. Continued abuse in this manner will eventually cause motor failure.
