To reconnect the headset to the PS3™ system and use it in Desktop Mic mode, turn on the headset by pressing its power button for three seconds.
The pass key is a security measure that helps to ensure a secure connection between the Bluetooth device and the PS3. Default pass key is 0000 or 1234. If you don't know the correct pass key, consult the instructions for your Bluetooth device. Press the X button to begin entering the Pass Key.
There are two types of headsets that can be used on the PS3. USB headsets, and Bluetooth headsets. Nearly all are compatable. There are two ways a headset can be connected for use on the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.
The Gold Wireless Headset can be used with the PS3 and with PCs. You must use the 3.5mm jack plugin though. Officially licensed Xbox One headsets will work with the Xbox Series X. If you have a headset that is licensed for the Xbox One, you can use with the Series X.
Despite this, wired headsets still work with the PS3. If your headset or headphones have a USB connector, or you possess an audio-to-USB adapter, you can simply plug the headset into either of the USB ports at the front of the PS3 (located just under the disc drive).
However, PlayStation 3 wireless headsets are supported by the PlayStation 4,[1] but not at launch. USB-powered headsets will work on PS4 (Sony Wireless, Sony Pulse, etc), but will require a post-launch update in order for them to work on PS4. It's a blue headset, with only one earbud.
