The body of the Harley Benton TE DIY Kit is made of solid wood that’s been given a base coat of wood filler; the tone wood used varies. The maple neck has a roseacer fretboard fitted with 22 frets, and the scale length is a traditional 648 mm.
The scratch plate needed slight sanding on the low E side of the neck in order to get a good fit. It does look good with the gold lettering on the volume/tone controls. The electrics worked well. The pickups are bright, but not very powerful. Setting up as close to the strings as specs allow is recommended.
Never of course anything major, but when you get your piece check everywhere just for small things like tiny scratches and sometimes things won’t be completely aligned. Harley Benton has no problem refunding you if anything is wrong, so there really is no need to worry at all.
