The harmonic balancer is press-fit onto the end of the crankshaft and held on by a single bolt. If you’re removing an old one or installing a new one, it’s very easy to get out of alignment and damage the threads, the crank, the balancer, or all three!

Feb 20, 2017 . 1. Harmonic amplitudes are proportional to the area of the distortion. 2. The Harmonic Signature is the result of the angle where the sinusoid impacts the distortion as predicted by the Bullard Harmonic Solution. Harmonics do not just fall off as the frequency increases as is commonly believed. 3.

Jan 08, 2016 . The crankshaft harmonic balancer is a device connected to the front of an engine’s crankshaft, usually built into the crankshaft pulley. Its purpose is to absorb and reduce harmonic vibrations from the engine as the crankshaft rotates, as harmonic vibrations at high engine speeds can cause accelerated wear and damage to the components.

A manual transmission (MT), also known as manual gearbox, standard transmission in Canada and the United Kingdom or stick shift in the United States, is a multi-speed motor vehicle transmission system, where gear changes require the driver to manually select the gears by operating a gear stick and clutch (which is usually a foot pedal for cars or a hand lever for motorcycles).

Harmonic Drives have an elliptically deformable inner gear (the flex spline) that is meshed into a ridged outer gear (the circular spline) using an elliptical horn ( the wave generator) that attaches to a motor. As the wave generator moves it deforms the flex spline and changes its contact points with the circular spline.
Harmonic Drive® Servo Actuators are a combination of highly dynamic compact servo motors, precision gears and integral tilt resistant high load capacity output bearings. All components are perfectly matched and combined into one complete solution resulting in the highest positioning accuracy and maximum performance with the smallest dimensions.
