In 1892 Kintaro Hattori bought a disused factory in Tokyo and Seikosha was formed (In Japanese, "Seiko" means "exquisite", "minute" or "success" and "sha" means house).

Hattory (or Hattori) is owned by Seiko and makes equivalent/interchangeable movements to Seiko models.
Time Module/Seiko states that the expected accuracy of this movement is less than +/- 20 seconds per month at normal temps. The battery life is about 3 years with normal operation. Using the chronograph will drain the battery faster. The 3 years estimate is based on using the chronograph for about 60 minutes per day.
