This filter from what I gather adjusts the latency to the ear’s transient response. Ifi has a complete document on the subject and makes an interesting read. You can read up more on the GTO Filter here. You can go to Ifi’s website and download an application called Ifi by AMR HD USB Audio Control Panel.
Remember the Ferrari analogy above! At Ifi we support our DAC circuit designs with balanced analogue output stages, even in many of our entry level systems, to achieve better signal-to-noise ratios and higher output SPLs (sound pressure levels).

The hip-dac boasts a balanced, analogue stage to bring you the best musicality for miles around. It sports a 4.4mm balanced output for balanced headphone cables/connectors.

The hip-dac will work with up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM and DSD256 files. MQA is also on the menu. In short, there's a great chance that the hip-dac will play whatever you want it to. There’s a pair of LEDs, one on either side of the volume dial, that indicate the sampling rate and type of file.
