IKEA Base Rail Height Discrepancy. The IKEA instruction say the bottom of base rail should be 32 3/16th inches from the highest floor point. The installer (he's a carpenter and I trust him) insists that the floor-to-cabinet height would be too low by quite bit (about 3/4 inches) and he'd have to shorten the toe kicks.

The rail should be 6cm below the actual top of the cabinet, so if your cabinet is 248cm tall (with plinth) then the rail for the top 40cm cabinet should be at 242cm. As others in the comments have said make sure to measure and level things as you go too.

I don't understand your question. You can install the rail at any height, and have to do the math to accommodate your specific ceiling height. The mounting points in the cabinets are fixed within the cabinets and are the starting point to determine the height of the rail. It cannot go higher, obviously it can go lower.The generic height given assumes a standard 8' ceiling height, but they all vary …

Mount the rails on the right height. The underside of the base cabinet suspension rail (A) should be 32 3/16” (82 cm) above your floor’s highest point (B). If your kitchen is 84 ½” (215 cm) high, allow 47 ¼” (120 cm) between the underside of the base cabinet suspension rail and the underside of the rail for the wall/high cabinet.

Jul 22, 2015 . Installing the IKEA kitchen rails. Shims behind the rail in my not-even-a-little-bit flat wall. The first part of this step is making a nice level line 32 3/16″ from the floor. My floor is not even vaguely level, so I measured from the highest point in the floor and used a 4′-long level to keep things straight.

Got some IKEA metod wall cabinets to fit in my existing kitchen. They're the 80cm tall ones. No where can I find what height the rail needs to be on the wall. I just wondered if there was a basic height? I understand it personal preference as they could be at any height, but i also can't find how high above the rail the cabinets will sit.
