Bardwell v1.x F4 board with the same issue. Impulse RC app says "Unexpected number of devices detected." Betaflight can't open port. This was a model that I had updated the board months ago so I knew that I had everything working for updates previously.

Impulserc driver fixer also had a hard time to find the board and got stuck the same place as you. To install the windows config tool, download and run the installer setup file, download. Additionally, you must have security update 2884256 installed. Windows 10 for ex will not format the card in fat32 format.

Last edited by QuadCopGVA; Sep 29, 2017 at 02:21 PM. Ok, as I keep hunting around online to solve this prob it seems to me that the ImpulseRC Driver Fixer is just simply an alternative to installing the drivers that make the FC, computer & BetaFlight talk to each other.
Impulserc apex frame is very nice, very strong and very precise. The most common installation types are click-to-run and microsoft windows installer msi . Make sure to use the 32bit dll-file for 32bit software, and 64bit dll-file for 64bit software.
