Nov 29, 2016 . On the desk these speakers had muddy, awful bass, and not a lot of it. Now they are putting out so much bass on the stands that I have checked to make sure the sub is still turned off. I'm hearing the subtleties in the plucking of the bass on Jazz, I hear the reeds of the saxophone, the clarity of the cymbals.

Jul 03, 2015 . The WGS G12C is excellent. 75 watts. More highs I think than the WGS G12C/S. It's not the loudest of the bunch, but is the best jensen ceramic like speaker I've heard. The Weber Cali would be a bit louder. A great speaker too, not much like a JBL, as I've so often heard. It's warmer.

Sep 25, 2013 . Jun 21, 2013. #7. I don't think of myself as much of a Jazz player - I do okay on some stuff, but I have had great sound from a blackface Vibrolux Reverb, and a variety of guitars. It was not at all difficult to get a range of what I feel are valid Jazz tones. No problems at all with 10 inch speakers. Mine are Webers.

IMHO a celestion greenback is a fantastic Jazz speaker, I get that woody Jazz tone for days with any archtop into a cheap vox ac15 with the standard issue greenback. They can be had cheap too.

Personally, it has been my experience that loudspeakers equipped with dual midrange drivers reproduce Jazz music best. If you got the coin, check out the Avalon's. Your right as usual Mark, the Avalons do Jazz well. ( willianfrost ) No need for help here, feeding my audio hobby is one of the few things I really enjoy anymore.
Still have them , haven't heard anything to surpass them with Jazz yet . Tim I usually don't think of speakers as being better on one type than another since the speaker should sound good on ALL types of music.

That being said I have a pair of Vandersteen Model 3A Signatures with one Vandersteen Model 2WQ subwoofer which, needless to say, sound grreat playing Jazz or any other type of music.
The Eminence Lil Texas is a great high power, light weight speaker otherwise. Cannabis Rex is 50 watts. Probably well under-rated, but could be a risk. The WGS G12C is excellent. 75 watts.
