The steering shaft is sealed by the Jefa developed PUR seal. Normal industry seals use steel reinforcement rings in the rubber housing. Jefa Steering pedestals are finished with electrostatic powder coating for durable glossy finish that will withstand years of exposure in harsh marine environment. Wire Sheave assemblies are available with sheaves machined from delrin or aluminum alloy.
All Jefa rudder bearings are produces with precision machined rollers and close tolerances to provide smooth operation under load. The close tolerance allows Jefa to eliminate the roller cage needed with sloppy bearings and keep the design simple for long term reliability.
