A new User Guide will be available soon. JETStream is an NSF-funded (NSF-1445604), user-friendly cloud environment designed to give researchers access to interactive computing and data analysis resources on demand, whenever and wherever they want to analyze their data.
Openstack, the underlying cloud operating system for JETStream, allows all users on an allocation to manage VMs but that doesn't guarantee all team members would have access. Below we will drill down a bit and give more information/details on making a VM available to others.
The API user interface is close to raw openstack, makes almost no assumptions, requires advanced knowledge of Openstack and Linux, but is therefore much more flexible. API and Atmosphere base images provided by JETStream staff require SUBSTANTIAL work to make them CLEANLY work in the other environment.
The JETStream Collaborate tools enable multiple users to participate in a single design review session across a Local Area Network (LAN). This utilizes the shared program features of Windows NetMeeting, available to all Windows users. All meeting participants require access to a JETStream .nwf or .nwd file, in a shared location.
What Causes Jet Streams? Jet streams form when warm air masses meet cold air masses in the atmosphere. On Earth there are four main jet streams: two polar jet streams and two subtropical jet streams. They form in the atmosphere where warm air masses meet cool air masses.
