The JETWAY is a foldable corridor that is used by passengers to board a plane. Doesn't influence the gameplay - purely cosmetic feature. If the parking space is away from the terminal, you can bring up ramp connection.
The JETWAY status is show as a grey, blue or green icon on the left-hand side of the X-Plane screen. In this icon is either an A or M visible which refers to either in AUTO or MANUAL mode.
As previously mentioned, the World JETWAY icon on the left-hand side of your X-Plane screen – provided you have not set it to “Hide” – will show you a M (from MANUAL) instead of the A from AUTO. Besides that, the Airport Operation System popup window tab Parking will show you a DOOR blue synoptic.
Suppose you’ve fulfilled all the cockpit conditions after parked at the gate, and select the anti-collision or beacon switch to OFF, the JETWAY won’t automatically connect to the aircraft since you had it in manual. When you click the blue DOOR synoptic on the fuselage drawing, a popup appears.
How to use the JETWAYs in FSX/How to load or unload passengers in FSX Line up your plane on the yellow marker, use the parking breaks here, then press Shift + E (+ 2,3,4,5 etc.) to open the doors or cargo doors. The vehicles will run on a timer to move, to move the JETWAY, simply hold Ctrl + J.
Manual pushback shortcuts: how to turn left and right please while pushing? I use the shift-p shortcut (TOGGLE PUSHBACK in controls) to initiate pushback while flying on VATSIM and PILOTEDGE to avoid messing with the radio ATC menus as I am connected to virtual controlers.
Use shift-p to request pushback and open the ATC menu to go left and right. Because sound is set to off this goes much faster then with sound set to on. Try it yourself, it's way better then with sound set to on. Pushback Helper is a freeware app to make push back operations easier.
