Viking Reviews - Kajak Sport Buyers' Guide Paddling.com

May 15, 2006 . Kajak Sport says that the Viking is suitable for people up to 6 feet tall. I would question this - I have relatively short legs and wear size 9 shoes, but I find that I have the footpegs at the end of their travel and the tops of my shoes sometimes rub against the deck. Anyone considering the Viking should definitely try it out for fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much does your looksha kayak weigh?

At 59 lbs the Looksha is fairly heavy for a 14ft boat so it is harder to get it on and off our truck and into the water. Hope I will get use to this. Our other kayaks are a Necky Manitou Sport and a Manitou 13. These boats weigh in at 45 lbs.

  • Is the Zoar sport a good kayak?

I am an avid kayak enthusiast and just happened to come across the Zoar sport at an Army/Navy surplus store that also sold kayaks. Like other large men 6’1, 250lbs, I have trouble fitting in most kayaks, the Zoar sport fit right and when put through its paces on both Cape Cod and Massachusetts North Shore it performed admirably.

  • How much does a millennium kayak weigh?

Although lightweight, at just over fifty pounds, the Millennium is afull- volume kayak, capable of handling most paddlers and expedition-sized loads with aplomb. TheMillenniumalsooffersbest-in-class standardfeatures,including:state-of-the- artproprietaryKajak-Sporthatches;three bulkheads; a retractable skeg; and re- cessed deckfittings.

  • What is the big person's kayak?

Yet another vote for the Zoar Sport as the "big person's kayak." and 200 pounds I am not extremely tall nor very "beamy" and yet I had a *lot* of difficulty feeling comfortable in most of the kayaks I tried. I have canoed for over 40 years and set out last summer to find a plastic kayak that I would not quickly outgrow.
