GPU-Accelerated Speech to Text with Kaldi: A Tutorial on

Oct 17, 2019 . Quick Background. Kaldi is an open-source software framework for speech processing, the first stage in the conversational AI pipeline, that originated in 2009 at Johns Hopkins University with the intent to develop techniques to reduce both the cost and time required to build speech recognition systems. Kaldi has since grown to become the de-facto speech …

Kaldi / Discussion / Help: Memory problem on decoding

Feb 20, 2014 . As a quick start, we've built an acoustic model (up to tri2a stage) using the rm/s4 recipe steps. This model seems to work fine on a fairly limited vocabulary recognition task. The problem occurs when we're building the test-time decoding …

Cyclone for Kaldi Fortis Came In - Home-Barista.com

Being up front, this post is just an ol' guy acting like a 5 YO at Christmas. IOW probably a post more for me than others. For the last few months after seeing a cyclone separator on the Kaldi Website I have been trying to figure out how to add it to my Fortis set-up. A couple of weeks ago I struck up a conversation w/ Hong at the website about doing just that.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I apply Kaldi’s ASR to my own audio?

Applying Kaldi’s ASR to your own audio is straightforward. Let’s run through an example using the LibriSpeech model. First, keep in mind that the LibriSpeech model was generated from a corpus of clean, echo-free, high-SNR recordings. Make sure your audio files were recorded with a headset or with a mic close to the speaking person’s mouth.

  • How does Kaldi ASR work with gRPC?

Based on this integration (Figure. 4), a client connects to the gRPC server, streams audio by sending chunks to the server, and gets back the inferred text as an answer. For more information, see Kaldi ASR Quick Start.

  • How does Kaldi integrate with librispeech?

The LibriSpeech dataset is a large (1,000 hours) corpus of read English speech. Based on this integration (Figure. 4), a client connects to the gRPC server, streams audio by sending chunks to the server, and gets back the inferred text as an answer. For more information, see Kaldi ASR Quick Start.

  • How does the Kaldi Triton server integration work?

The Kaldi Triton Server integration takes advantage of the sequence batcher. For more information, see the Triton Inference Server User Guide. Figure 1 shows a typical pipeline for ASR. The raw input audio containing the utterances is processed to extract features which are sent to an acoustic model for probabilistic classification.

  • Is Triton inference server supported in the Kaldi ASR online GPU pipeline?

Both the Triton Inference Server integration and the underlying Kaldi ASR online GPU pipeline are a work in progress and will support more functionality in the future. This includes online iVectors not currently supported in the Kaldi ASR GPU online pipeline and being replaced by a zero vector. For more information, see Known issues.

  • What's new in the Kaldi ASR pipeline?

In this post, we focus on other important improvements to the Kaldi ASR pipeline: easy deployment of GPU-powered, low-latency streaming inference with the NVIDIA Triton Inference Server.

  • Does Kaldi support GPU-accelerated feature extraction?

This post describes improvements to the C API for GPU-accelerated feature extraction routines in an ASR package called Kaldi. For more information about making use of GPUs for feature extraction in Kaldi, see Integrating NVIDIA Triton Inference Server with Kaldi ASR.

  • How to carry out inference with Kaldi Triton backend?

To better show the steps for carrying out inference with the Kaldi Triton backend server we are going to run the JoC/asr_Kaldi Jupyter notebooks. You display the results of inference using a Python gRPC client in an offline context, that is with pre-recorded .wav files and in an online context by streaming live audio.
