Kaleidescape, Inc. is a Sunnyvale, California-based private company, founded in 2001, which designs multi-room home entertainment server systems that store and stream video and audio content (such as movies, television shows, and music) to "player" appliances connected to televisions.
Technology never stops moving forward so Kaleidescape is now offering the Strato Ultra HD Movie Player. This slim box comes with either six or ten terabytes of internal storage and can output 3840×2160 resolution at 60Hz along with extended color and HDR. It also delivers the latest audio formats in the form of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
In 2015, Kaleidescape launched the flagship Encore line of 4K-compatible movie players and servers, including the top-shelf Strato 4K movie player, which supports HDR10 playback, and began adding 4K content for download through the Movie Store. Things seemed to be rolling along.
All the digital convenience with none of the compromise. With Strato, Kaleidescape is completely abandoning the discdependent system that the company was founded on, instead relying 100 percent on their Movie Store to provide content. To be clear, Strato doesn’t play any discs; all content must be downloaded from the Kaleidescape store.
