GT Karakoram Expert 2016 Great value only if its on sale. Most components are durable and not terribly heavy. The stock RS Recon Silver Solo Air is a tad heavy (2250g) and flexible (under 85kg rider anyway) so upgraded to a Manitou Marvel Expert QR 15... a lot better with the new fork

The Karakoram has eighteen summits over 7,500 m (24,600 ft) height, with four of them exceeding 8,000 m (26,000 ft): K2, the second highest peak in the world at 8,611 m (28,251 ft), Gasherbrum I, Broad Peak and Gasherbrum II . The range is about 500 km (311 mi) in length and is the most heavily glaciated part of the world outside the polar regions.
As the name suggest, it is an MTB that is built for the off road adventurer. Here's what we thought after our road test. The frame on the GT Karakoram Sport 29 (2016) is a 29'Hydro formed 6061 T6 Aluminum frame. When you lift the bicycle, you can immediately tell that it has a fair bit of weight on it.
