insert the KaWeCo squeeze converter to the pen and dip the entire nib and feed into the ink. Squeeze the converter and release again while keeping the nib submerged. Repeat three to four times, wait a few seconds in between the squeezes and clean the nib with soft paper towel after the converter is filled.

May 15, 2018 . KaWeCo nib units are often quite stiff, especially when they’re new. If you’re having trouble getting the nib out, twist the nib as you pull or use a grip liner to get a better grip. If the nib just won’t budge, you can also install an ink cartridge in the pen. This lubricates the nib very effectively, but it is also very messy.

Remove the ink cartridge/converter from the pen and run the front end (nib, grip and feed) under warm water. Once the water runs clear, place the nib into a mug of warm water for a minimum of 2 hours. This helps loosen any really hardened and dried out ink particulates. Shake out any excess water and dry the nib with a clean, lint-free cloth.

KaWeCo’s EF and F nibs seem to be excellent out of the box. The most surprising thing about the KaWeCo Special is how well it writes when posted. It makes it a really long pen but it is light and well-weighted. I did end gripping the pen a bit further back than other pens but the slim shape makes that an easy, comfortable transition.
KaWeCo pens take standard international converters and cartridges which adds to the ease of use in an office environment. Who doesn’t have a drawer of cartridges? On the cap end is an engraved KaWeCo badge in silver. It’s the only silver besides the nib on the pen. (Psst! Hey, KaWeCo, black nib, black badge…. Blackout Edition. You’re welcome.)
Replacement KaWeCo Calligraphy nibs are easiest to install in plastic-bodied pens. If you have a Classic Sport, Skyline Sport, or Ice Sport, you can simply swap the entire nib unit and grip section. Choose your preferred grip color.
KaWeCo Sport fountain pens are compatible with two types of replacement nibs: standard KaWeCo 060 nibs, and KaWeCo Calligraphy nibs. They come in several different colors, materials, and sizes. If you’re not sure what size to get, skip to the bottom of this guide.
The portable ballpoint pen pairs the KaWeCo's octagonal shape with a retractable mechanism. The pre-installed ink refill is a mid-tone blue with cool indigo hues. While it's perfectly serviceable, we recommend substituting it with a higher quality D1 size refill.
The original KaWeCo Sport was a fountain pen, and KaWeCo has perfect it in both form and appearance. Depending on the model, it features either a gold-plated or silver nib. Both nibs dispense ink smoothly without skipping when you find the nib's sweet spot.
Even the fountain pen nibs are plated in black to accentuate the stealthy look. KaWeCo was inspired by the look of worn-in jeans when they designed the AL Stonewashed. Using the AL aluminum as a base, they then treat the pens in a special procedure that gives them a vintage, distressed look. The Brass line become even better with age.
The rich body colors are accented with silver nibs. From the KaWeCo logo on the barrel to the medallion on the cap or push button, this solid black limited edition is a sleek pocket addition. Even the fountain pen nibs are plated in black to accentuate the stealthy look.
