Of Keces new models, I had originally asked to review the lower cost DA-151 USB model. (My thinking at the time was that I could shelve my Trends UD-10.1 DAC (used solely as a USB to SPDIF converter feeding my Entec Number Cruncher 205.2 DAC.) I am a believer that the fewer boxes and parts in a system, the better off one generally is.

Keces used a single 1KV (1000VA) toroidal transformer and about 40.000 μF sitting in some big capacitors will be filtering all that power. Much like previous Keces products the S300 is incredibly well built, with a solid chassis and hefty weight to it. The aluminium panels are very thick, which provides rigidity along with blocking EMI/RFI interference. The inputs and outputs are all sturdy and heavy duty, and I cannot fault the build quality, it really is a solidly built amplifier.

My Keces P3 that I purchased from Mike arrived yesterday and any break-in is now ongoing. It was a bit rough the first couple of hours, probably still cold, but by last evening had smoothed out nicely. I will keep you apprised of how things progress. My issue now is how to hide the Keces and GigaFOIL units to avoid a cluttered look.

One for the BP-2400 Balanced Isolation Power Conditioner, and the other for the P8 Linear DC Power Supply (Dual Output).
S400 sounded mellow and plain boring with little to no depth with three amplifiers, they sounded considerably more alive and ass-kicking with a Keces E40 and absolutely amazing with other three amplifiers: Hegel H190 ($4000), Keces S125 ($1099) and with the Kinki Studio EX-M7 ($2598).
Starting with the BP-2400, we have your standard sized unit measuring in at 430 x 340 x 133mm or approximately 17" x 13" x 5" weighing in at a hefty 25KG (or about 55 lbs). First impressions are always important when removing from the packaging anything related to power.
Keces is having a different philosophy as even their cheapest products as E40 integrated or the BP-600 passive power conditioner are using absolutely the same case with the unit that I am testing today. S125 is having a thick aluminum case, with just two panels attached on top and under the unit.
