A synergic welding set provides unit current pulses to detach identical molten droplets of predetermined volume from the electrode wire, combined with the other parametric relationships necessary for stable wire burn off. Unit pulses are unique to a given material and wire diameter and their details are programmed into a synergic welding set.
Synergic MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding is a variant of pulsed MIG/MAG welding. A synergic welding set provides unit current pulses to detach identical molten droplets of predetermined volume from the electrode wire, combined with the other parametric relationships necessary for stable wire burn off.
The major feature of synergic control is that the four pulse parameters (pulse current, pulse current time, background current, and pulse frequency) are optimally pre-programmed for a wide wire feed speed range.
The synergic pulsed GMAW process is also desirable for making welds at high travel speeds on thin sheet, since distortion and spatter are significantly reduced. The synergic pulsed process is quite advantageous for welding aluminum. Aluminum joints can be welded with argon shielding gas in all positions.
