The F6 fault code indicates a drive motor tachometer error . The control unit for the washer is not able to properly detect drive motor speed. The troubleshooting for this fault code involves. unplugging the washer. and checking the wire harness connections between the drive motor and the motor control unit (MCU).
There are three possible reasons your washer isn’t spinning. The belt is broken, loose, or frayed. The belt transfers the power from the motor to the drum. If the belt can’t spin and turn the drum, the washer won’t spin. The motor.
When a washer won’t drain, it’s usually because there’s a clog or the pump is broken. If you figure out what’s causing the issue, you may be able to fix it yourself. To find out what’s preventing your washer from draining, you’ll need to access the parts of your machine to check for damage or clogs.
Reduce suds by pouring in 1/2 cup white vinegar in 1 quart water. Then switch to either less detergent or to a low-sudsing variety. 3 Check seals and bearings. The machine may have a faulty basket gasket or tub seal and bearing that must be replaced; in this case, call an appliance repair person.
To reset the washer you have to Press and hold the END OF CYCLE/CYCLE SIGNAL button for 20 seconds. This button is usually located on the right side of the panel facing the front of the washer. Similarly, if it is a Kenmore Washer you can press and hold the DRAIN/SPIN button for 20 seconds.

If your washer will not start, be sure the switch is being pressed. If the lid switch is being pressed but no power is being supplied to the washers motor, then the switch is most likely bad. To test the switch, turn off power to washer and remove the wires from the lid switch.
Kenmore washers are made by Whirlpool and Frigidaire. Top-loading washers are made by Whirlpool and front-loading machines are made by Frigidaire.
